Fine Arts Weekly Rotation
Students follow the weekly fine arts/PE rotation schedule as follows:
Expectations for General Music
Attendance and Participation
Due to the class schedule, regular attendance is important for learning progress and project completion. Since general music primarily uses performance based assessments, students are expected to attend class regularly and fully participate in all class activities. If a student is absent from class, the student will discuss with the music teacher his/her options for making up missed work, if possible.
Each grade level, except pre-kindergarten and kindergarten, gives a scheduled group performance in school once a year. All students are expected to participate.
Supplies and Materials
In order for students to fully partake and excel in activities, it is important for students to bring supplies and/or materials to class when needed. These materials may include a soprano recorder and/or student workbooks when required for class participation.
Grading
Music grades will be given using a letter grade based on the student’s performance of the stated objectives and student created criteria charts.
· E – Excellent (91 – 100%)
· S – Satisfactory (81 – 90%)
· N – Needs Improvement (70 – 80%)
· U – Unsatisfactory (69% and below)
