In partnership with Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute (WMI), the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra presents WMI’s Link Up program. Utilizing materials provided free of charge by WMI, music teachers in the Fort Worth ISD guide their fourth grade students in exploring symphonic music through a yearlong, hands-on music curriculum. Students participate in active music making in the classroom and learn repertoire on the recorder or with their voice. This season’s Link Up program – The Orchestra Moves – explores how composers create musical movement using motifs and melodic direction. The culmination of the yearlong program is a live performance in which students have the opportunity to sing and/or play the recorder along with the FWSO.
Program subject to change.
The Link Up program is currently open only to 4th grade students in the Fort Worth Independent School District.
